Narok County has a population of around 1,157,873 persons as of 2019, distributed across 6 sub- counties, with the maasai and Kalenjin as the dominant ethnic groups. It covers an area of 17, 933.1 km2, representing 3.1% of the total area of Kenya. The main economic activities in the county include pastoralism, crop farming, tourism and trade among other activities undertaken in small scale. The famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve, featuring the Great Wildebeest Migration which is one of the “seven Wonder of the World” is located within the County. The county has a robust ecological system that residents depend on for agriculture, tourism, water and many other benefits. Narok is the home to the Kenyan Football club, WAZITO FC.
